17th Oct 2012 – BRA Day 2012

\"Closing BRA Day 2012 – Closing the loop on Breast Cancer

Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, or BRA Day, was pioneered in Canada 2 years ago, in an effort to raise awareness about options for breast reconstruction post-mastectomy. It falls on the third Wednesday of October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, the event has come to the UK for the first time, and to celebrate, we have re-launched the website just in time for BRA Day 2012.

The new website is full of new features, including access to the BRA Foundation Online Community, where you can register and log in to read testimonials and share patient experiences of Breast Reconstruction Surgery. There is also a brand new section displaying before and after photographs of breast reconstruction surgery – something that nearly all patients we\’ve talked to have been eager to see.

Other events happening on the day include a fundraising cycle ride across London, starting at 11am from St. Thomas\’ Hospital. Everyone is invited to take part! Special t-shirts with our logo have been produced and are available to pick up from our starting point.

In addition to all this, we will be running an information stand celebrating BRA Day 2012 in Central Hall of St. Thomas\’ Hospital in London. Why not come along on the day between 1-4pm and meet members of the BRA Foundation team, have all your questions answered and have a delicious cupcake or two with refreshments? No doubt a welcome treat after all that cycling!

To keep updated with all that is happening at BRA Foundation, on BRA Day and beyond, why not…
